Navy Beach is proud to announce the results of a sixth successful season of raising awareness for and funds on behalf of the Navy SEAL Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that provides immediate and ongoing support and assistance to the Naval Special Warfare community and their families. This year, the restaurant’s efforts raised $25,000 in funds for the organization, bringing the six-year total of fundraising for NSF to over $150,000.
In 2018, the restaurant’s varied efforts included a “dine & donate” program running from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day during which lunch and dinner checks collected at least $1 per meal while allowing customers to donate additional funds at their own discretion and an annual cocktail party fundraiser in June that was attended by many local residents and business owners as well as active and retired members of the Naval Special Warfare community. This year’s event featured Rear Admiral Tom W. Steffens, US Navy (Ret) (SEAL), who served 34 years as a Navy SEAL, who spoke on behalf of the Navy SEAL Foundation.
“For a sixth straight year in-a-row, Navy Beach has outdone themselves with their annual summer campaign to raise critical funds and awareness in support of the Navy SEAL Foundation’s vital mission of service to the warriors and families of Naval Special Warfare. Navy Beach continues to set higher goals and surpass them each and every time, and the Navy SEAL Foundation thanks them for a job well done, their continued partnership and look forward to helping Navy Beach make a difference in the future as they are inevitably planning 2019 as we speak,” said Marc Wolf, Director of Development, New York Region, Navy SEAL Foundation.
“The experience has been rewarding and the local community’s response and support has been tremendous. We are excited to celebrate our tenth year of business at Navy Beach next year as well as our continued partnership and support of the Navy SEAL Foundation with a combined 10th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, June 15th. We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Navy SEAL Foundation in the future and continue to look for even more ways to help increase awareness for the foundation and its efforts while also helping to raise the funds required for the organization to carry out its core mission,” concluded Frank Davis.
The Navy SEAL Foundation’s mission is to provide immediate and ongoing support and assistance to the Naval Special Warfare (NSW) community and its families. U.S. Navy SEALs have been in sustained combat for over 17 years, performing hazardous work in unforgiving environments at an unrelenting pace. SEALs are currently deployed in over 35 countries across the globe and spend up to 270 days each year in harm’s way. The Navy SEAL Foundation stands behind these warriors and their families by delivering comprehensive, world-class programs that specifically address the community’s unique needs. Like the community it serves, the Foundation is a solid, high performing organization committed to excellence. 94 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to current or future programs. This year the Navy SEAL Foundation received its 7th consecutive 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, a top charity watchdog, for sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency (top .6% of all rated charities). The Navy SEAL Foundation is a 501c3 national non-profit charitable organization TAX-ID 31-1728910 CFC# 11454. The Navy SEAL Foundation is a non-federal entity.
